WILDLIFE
Bespoke wildlife tours
The wildlife of South America is as varied as it is colorful and abundant, and it's waiting for you to discover on your
holiday.
It is a vast continent of contrasts and seemingly impossible juxtapositions. You can spot penguins in Antartica - and
also near the Equator, in the natural paradise of the Galapagos Islands. There are big cats, with pumas ranging around
Chile's National Park and jaguars throughout the jungle areas.
Then there is the Amazon rainforest, home to many thousands of animals, birds, and insects, some known, many not. And
how can we not mention the Southern Right whales of Peninsula Valdes or the coast of Colombia and the amazing
birding opportunities in the highlands, cloud forests and Amazon lowlands.
Due to its mild climate and isolation, the marsh is an area where wild animals are still the stars. Within Argentina and
South America, the Iberá Wetlands are the Ornithologist's Mecca. Over 350 species of birds live in this virgin landscape
and most of them can be spotted easily.
The iconic condor soars over much of the South American Andes, and awe-inspiring sight as they float on the thermals
and gaze down, looking for their next meal.
We have also seen the incredibly shy spectacled bear on our treks, as well as flamingoes, vicuñas, the iconic llamas and
the list goes on.
