Peninsula Valdés, on the Atlantic coast of Chubut province, is one of South America’s most spectacular nature reserves. The area is a paradise for visitors interested in marine life, there is one of the most important marine mammal reserve in the world. Between June and December, these coastlines are home of hundreds of the famous Southern Right whales. Its an unforgettable spectacle of leaping and blowing. Many colonies of penguins, sea lions, dolphins, orcas, and elephant seals find in these shores the perfect environment. Inland, the fauna is very attractive too, the most common to find are maras, guanacos, armadillo, rheas and more than 180 bird species. Few miles away, the town of Gaiman, treasures the Welsh tradition. You will find brick buildings put up by the Welsh inmigrants who colonized this province during the last century. Further south, Punta Tombo, is a colony with the one of the most varied colonies of seabirds and the largest concentration of Magellanic Penguins in the continent.
