There’s a lot more to Rio than just “sun, sea and surf”. It’s regarded by many as the educational and cultural capital of Brazil. It’s home to some of Brazil’s leading universities and some of the most delightful museums and art galleries in the country.
The city is divided into four separate zones; north, south, centre and the suburbs.

The coastline is incredibly diverse with distinctive landscapes and geological formations along the entire 8.5 km stretch. You´ll see massive rocky sea cliffs, coral reefs, bays, natural pools and plenty of dunes built by powerful winds.
No matter which part of the coastline you are on there’s always plenty of sunshine, soft sea breezes, warm waters and shade under the coconut trees.
All the beaches here are very well preserved. With greenish/blue waters that can be amazingly transparent, many of them offer excellent diving opportunities, where you´ll see an extensive range of indigineous marine life.
